Privacy Policy
Stitch Organizer ("the app", "we", "us") is a cross-stitch project and floss-tracking app. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. In short: everything you create stays on your device. The app has no accounts and does not upload your projects, floss stash, notes, or photos to any server. The only information we receive is anonymous usage analytics, described below.
Information stored on your device
Everything you create in the app — projects, notes, floss stash, shopping lists, storage boxes, and any photos you attach — is stored locally on your device. We do not have accounts, we do not upload this data to any server, and we cannot see it.
Photos and camera
If you choose to add a photo to a project, the app asks permission to use your camera or photo library. Selected photos are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us or any third party.
Analytics
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it. What this means in practice:
- What is collected: anonymous usage events (for example, when a project is created or a shopping list is committed), screen views, app version, device model, operating system version, approximate country, and an anonymous, Firebase-generated app-install identifier. Firebase may also collect standard automatic events as described in Google's documentation.
- Approximate size of your collection: so we can tell whether a feature works as well for a large stash as a small one, the app reports a few coarse, non-identifying descriptions of how you use it — how many projects you have as a range (for example "4–10" rather than an exact number), roughly how many floss colours you hold as a range, which of the built-in thread brands you stock, whether you track any fabric, and which language the app is displayed in. These are ranges and yes/no flags only; they never include an exact count or anything you typed.
- What is not collected: the contents of your projects, notes, floss stash, shopping lists, storage boxes, or photos. This includes anything you type: project and colour names, your own floss codes, storage box labels, and search terms all stay on your device. Where an event needs to describe what you typed, it records only a characteristic such as its length — never the text. Your name, email, contacts, precise location, and advertising identifiers are also not collected by this app.
- Where the data goes: events are sent to Google Firebase and processed by Google under their Firebase Privacy and Security terms.
- When it is collected: only in the production build of the app installed from the App Store or Google Play. Development builds and automated tests do not send analytics.
We do not use analytics data for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties beyond the Google Firebase service that processes it on our behalf.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not show advertisements.
- We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or contacts.
- We do not use analytics to identify you as an individual.
Data retention and deletion
Because your content lives on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing items in the app or uninstalling the app, which erases all locally stored data. We hold no copy of your data because none is ever sent to us.
Children
Stitch Organizer is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
